Marmaris Dental Bonding

A diastema is a space between two teeth and can occur anywhere in the mouth. However, it is usually located between the two front teeth. According to the American Dental Association, most dental literature reports that 1.6 to 25.4 percent of American adults have a cavity in this part of the mouth. Although this condition can be difficult, your dentist can help you treat it. Dentists primarily use dental bonding for cavities to effectively mask this unwanted area.

What is Dental Bonding?

Dental bonding is an aesthetic treatment of teeth using tooth-colored composite resin. Your dentist can carefully mold this resin into the appropriate shape and size to close the gap between your front incisors.

The procedure itself is simple and the dentist can perform it in one session. First, your dentist will choose a dentist that matches the color of your teeth. Next, the surface of your front teeth is prepared for the application of bonding material. At this point, your dentist will gently scrape the surface of your teeth and then apply a softening liquid to facilitate bonding.

How is Dental Bonding performed?

After your teeth are prepared, the bonding application can begin. This material has a pasty texture that allows your dentist to shape and mold it while it is in your mouth. Once your dentist is satisfied with the appearance of your front teeth, they will use ultraviolet light to cure the bond in place. The bonding material is later polished so it doesn’t irritate the inside of your lips, and when your dentist is done with the process, you’re done.
